Welcome 2008

And welcome to the GoGreen Hastings site, created to provide input and continue the vision of our community continuing on the "Greenest City in America" journey. Here you will find useful information on recycling, better energy usage, sustainability and correct hazardous waste disposal.  

With environmental, economic, and social aspects, the Green City Task Force 'Green Community' strives to:

  •     address waste minimization and pollution prevention
  •     conserve natural resources
  •     actively involve the community through open meetings

Through collective efforts, our community will prosper as a healthier environment and sustain the quality of life we have always enjoyed.

 

IMPORTANT DATE!

2008 Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day is scheduled for April 26, 2008 at the Adams County Fairgrounds, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. If you do not have disposal items, consider volunteering for this event.

Request funds - complete the form and return to Ginny at the City of Hastings - the office is upstairs at 220 N. Hastings Avenue. 

Proposals are accepted at any time, but to be included as part of the monthly meeting (second Wednesday of each month) agenda, proposals need to be given to Ginny at the City of Hastings office. Award decisions will be made on a quarterly basis. Quarterly proposal deadlines are 5:00 p.m. March 31, June 30, September 30, December 31, 2008.
